In their renovated space in Maldonado 1001, Matías (35 years old), Natalia (33) and Federico (38) met as they do every week, but this time, with the aim of remembering the beginnings of Teletipos.
The one who can tell in detail the first stage of the company is its founder, Matías Nogueira, who brought Teletipos to light on July 1, 2006. Matías, like all Telecommunications Engineers, is very detailed and passionate about his career, which is why he insists that nothing is left out of this story. A born entrepreneur, he set up his first office in a small house in downtown Pocitos, which he shared with an advertising agency and a flower shop, since research and training were always a priority when it came to managing the budget.
"It's always been a concern of mine, I can't imagine doing anything else," he says.
In 2008, his sister, Natalia Nogueira, a Systems Engineer, joined the company, and soon after, his childhood friend, Federico Mangino, who is now Technology Manager, joined the company. These ties are, without a doubt, an added value.
Always taking firm steps, Teletipos was growing, the bathroom of that office was transformed into an electromechanical workshop, and the move was imminent.
2009 was a challenging year from every point of view. On the one hand, Paylana, their most important client so far, required several weekly visits to Paysandú. They added Cibeles Company to their client portfolio, with a very ambitious project, designing and automating a block nutrition plant. They moved their offices to the current location, and installed their own datacenter.
Thanks to their performance, they have been able to keep each of their customers since July 1, 2006, and have added many more to the list, without resorting to advertising. They are their own salesmen, because they believe in what they offer.
"We are part of the companies, we are not just a mere supplier, we are on their side" argues Federico.
Gales Servicios Financieros is a clear example of this, outsourcing its electrical and telecommunications management to Teletipos. So do Pro Capital Sociedad de Bolsa and other clients specializing in finance.
Another of the products provided is video surveillance and facial recognition, through which close links have been generated with different state agencies interested in the smart city project.
Its network of suppliers -local and international- has been expanding over the years, becoming "partners" or business partners. This is the result of networking, traveling to trade fairs and trainings, where they exchange ideas and services with colleagues.
In addition, he has been associated with Connect Americas, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology, the Association of Engineers of Uruguay, and Uruguay XXI.
Teletipos is organized in different business units, which, in accordance with the global technological evolution, converge perfectly.
"We are the technology company that offers the client an integral solution, starting from consulting, creating and developing the product and providing the corresponding maintenance," says Matias.
Such growth has led to a building expansion. The large house that has housed the team since 2009 dates back to 1900, and maintaining its original cobblestone foundations, has just finished being remodeled, reaching 4 floors, with a total of 360 square meters of offices, workshop, laboratory and multimedia rooms.
"All our projections for 'someday' came to fruition," Natalia says with a smile.
Its goal for the future is to consolidate the growth achieved so far, expanding locally and internationally.
