Reading time: 3 minutes

This is the 28th edition of a meeting that each year brings together more than 3,5000 people from all over the world to reflect on software.

Latin America's largest Business and Innovation in Technology & Development event this year honours the powerful global software development community under the theme The Power Of Doing. GX28 will be held at the Radisson Montevideo from 24-26 September, and registration is now open at genexus.com/gx28.

According to several technology experts, including GeneXus CEO Nicolás Jodal, software and the enormous proliferation of data has impacted society in a way that represents the same relevance that oil and electricity once had. Our era is marked by Artificial Intelligence.

But this context of revolution that is now exploding in front of our eyes is a process years in the making, so The Power of Doing celebrates all the doers who have been building these systems for more than 3 decades.

In the words of GeneXus CEO Breogán Gonda: "The power of doing is the power of what we were doing while Artificial Intelligence was awakening. A power that manifests itself in the permanence of our paradigm, describing instead of programming". In this sense, the power of doing of software developers will take centre stage at GX28.

Blockchain, DevOps, IOT, Artificial Intelligence, autonomous vehicles and softskills will be some of the topics addressed at GX28.

Innovation in business will be one of the highlights of GX28 The Power of Doing from different points of view: the possibilities of blockchain, IOT, Big Data and the impact that autonomous vehicles can have on productivity. It will also be a space to reflect on the design and interaction with the user or the soft and management skills required for this environment, as well as the dynamics that are imposed in the management of software processes such as DevOps.

On the other hand, GeneXus will release the latest technology that has been tested during 2017: GeneXus 16. "We are expecting our large community of developers to show them what we have been working on with the R&D team in terms of user experience, security, integration and DevOps. There will also be news about GeneXus M, the cross platform IDE, which will be able to run on Linux and OSx platforms", says Gastón Milano, GeneXus CTO.

The GeneXus Meeting talks will be organised in the following tracks:

Development, management and business methodologies: DevOps, Planning, Testing, Integration, Configuration, Monitoring.

Design in software development: Visual Design, Interaction Design, Omnichannel UX, Design Systems.

Development with GeneXus: integration with other platforms, experiences with GeneXus for SAP System, architecture, security and testing. Technological innovations in GeneXus 16.

Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things: Cognitive Services, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, ChatBot and BlockChain.
