Since December the startup is being incubated at Ingenio. "The project arose because we worked together with Javier for two years and with Eli for about 7 years in a company for the United States. Here we used a technology to collect data on the web. That company closed and we came up with the idea of using that knowledge in a venture," said Nicolas Guffanti, CEO and co-founder of Mercurio with Javier Rinaldi and Eli Barnett.
The entrepreneurs came up with the idea of using this technology in a platform to control prices in the market.
Mercury is the god of the market in ancient Rome, and as their future clients would be companies that work there, this name suited them very well. In July of last year the company was born and in December they began to incubate in Ingenio.
The platform notifies the price variations of competitors in the market, assisting Business-to-Business Wholesalers to control their prices in the market on the one hand, and retailers by providing competitive information on the other hand.
The daily information on the variations of the competition allows customers to make better decisions in the management of your company to avoid further losses. As well as price management to achieve a better competitive strategy in the market against competitors.
There is no other company in Uruguay dedicated to what they offer. In the future, they imagine themselves consolidating as companies and crossing borders, conquering new clients in Argentina, Chile, USA, Europe. The platform is in English, so language is not a barrier.
