The release of the ranking comes in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, which disrupted daily life and business operations across the region. The criteria stem from the data used in the calculation of the regional list and the national lists published in 2019 and early 2020 and are based on a comprehensive analysis of confidential employee responses through the Trust Index© survey. In addition, the list divides organizations into three categories according to size: small and medium (20 to 499 employees); large (500+ employees); and multinational.
To be considered for the 2020 Best Places to Work list in Latin America, companies must appear on one or more of the national lists in Great Place to Work's organizational climate survey in the region, which includes Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico and Uruguay. The ranking of the best places to work in Latin America was based on data collected before the new coronavirus outbreak. But it also found that the organizations on the list are leading the way in the midst of the pandemic, demonstrating care for their employees, their customers and their communities during this difficult time.
"Receiving this recognition, in the midst of this global crisis, encourages us to continue our efforts to achieve an inclusive work environment, with an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, which serves to support and help all our professionals. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Logicalis has adopted home office work for more than 3,000 employees in Latin America, in order to take care of them and their families. We have also created additional communication channels so that they can send us their questions and doubts in these uncertain times. We have set up new training programs and talks aimed at the physical and emotional well-being of everyone who is part of this team," said Tania Casa, Logicalis' Human Resources Director for Latin America.
In 2019, Logicalis achieved this recognition in several of the region's countries. In Argentina it ranked 8th in the "between 251 and 1,000 employees" segment; in Paraguay it reached 5th place among multinational companies with less than 150 employees; while Logicalis Uruguay ranked 11th in the small companies category. Logicalis Brazil ranked 7th as one of the best IT companies to work for in the large enterprise category.
Great Place to Work's global research shows that all companies want a high-trust culture, but the path forward for organizations has regional variations. In Latin America, the best workplaces have excelled at creating psychologically safe workplaces, regardless of a person's position or location. Latin America has weathered great social, economic and political turmoil in recent years. The best companies to work for realize that in a climate of great uncertainty, two-way communication with leadership guided by purpose and transparency is especially important. When companies go out of their way to create the safest possible workplaces in the midst of turmoil, employees return the attention by giving the best they can.
