The Logicalis TIC Forum In Motion was held in Montevideo, with the presence of executives, industry leaders, professionals and specialists in the technology sector.
During the event, Cloud, Security, Programmability and Managed Services were discussed. Among them, aspects related to technological security were discussed, highlighting the context, trends and future, in addition to the presentation of updated offers of technological products and services for sectors such as banking and finance, government, telcos and oil & gas.
The digital transformation of companies allows to improve the operational efficiency of organizations, reducing costs through automation and process optimization, improving customer experience, aligning their expectations with those they receive and generate new lines of business.
"Digital transformation is no longer a technological issue but a matter of the business world," said Rodrigo Parreira, CEO of Logicalis Latam, who visited Uruguay to participate in the TIC Forum In Motion. The executive mentioned that digital transformation is based on enabling technologies such as the Cloud, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Security.
Parreira stressed that there are many challenges that companies and institutions will have to face in the coming years in relation to digital transformation. From the technological point of view, infrastructures will be renewed, applications will have to be redesigned and operational and governance models will have to be reviewed. "In addition, information security will have to be part of all discussions and changes driven by the digital transformation, especially if we think that businesses and transactions connected to the Internet are susceptible to attacks," he added. At the same time, he said that the transition will bring companies to a point where it will be possible to improve the customer experience at all touch points and engage customers. "This will require redefining the company's processes, deepening data analysis in all areas of business, pushing big data with criteria, using new technologies and not setting limits. This is the only way to focus on the customer and share that vision transversally throughout the entire organization," concluded the executive.
For his part, Antonio Domínguez, Cluster Manager at Logicalis for Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay, mentioned that digital transformation implies a cultural change within companies, not only in one area but in the entire organization, where the commitment must be from everyone, starting from the management. In this sense, he indicated that it is essential to work on three pillars: people, processes and technology, supported by strategic partners to help them on this path.
Logicalis' vision is to be a transforming agent of society through technology. That is why it promotes the TIC FORUM in several countries, a space where company experts, industry leaders and CIOs share how companies can use new technologies to modernize and achieve flexibility, automation, security and scalability for their businesses.
