Logicalis, a global provider of integrated Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions and services, acquired 51% of NubeliU, an Argentinean company specialising in OpenStack-based cloud computing projects. This acquisition is part of Logicalis' strategy to position itself as a cloud services integrator, and to strengthen its commitment to the open source community, particularly OpenStack, which is essential for Software Defined Everything (Sdx) and cloud computing projects.
NubeliU was founded in January 2015 by the team that deployed the first production clouds on OpenStack. As a services company, NubeliU integrates OpenStack environments with existing customer platforms through multiple vendors. From its operations in Argentina and Brazil, it can remotely deliver its service offerings worldwide. This acquisition lays the foundation to position Logicalis within the OpenStack practice on a global scale.
Mark Rogers, CEO of Logicalis comments, "We are convinced that OpenStack will be one of the foundations of the future ICT infrastructure. It is a platform that enables the management and orchestration of hybrid environments in public and private clouds, ensuring secure and transparent operation for enterprise customers. This acquisition provides us with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to position Logicalis as the organisation best suited to develop our customers' cloud projects.
NubeliU's expertise in OpenStack will accelerate Logicalis' global strategy in the areas of cloud computing and SDx practices, strengthening its position as a cloud services integrator and ensuring its ability to meet the needs of its customers on their journey towards digital transformation.
