This device is an interactive projector designed to improve the bond between parents and their children through storytelling.
With "Read to me" children live a different experience where they listen to the story with live projections instantly, because the device, once downloaded the story to be told, broadcasts certain images and videos when the adult says a key word.
In this way, the company seeks to transform the classic storybook into "a multisensory experience," general manager Andres Guarino told Efe.
"This is non-invasive technology that enhances the experience, complements it and makes that parent-child bond memorable, where the magic happens when the two of them are sharing an important moment," he explained.
Although this device has not yet been mass produced, the company expects to begin developing a version and bring it to the international market in the second half of this year.
Regarding the American award that the company received at the end of last December, Guarino stressed that "Read to me" has given "a lot of satisfaction to the company" and emphasized that the most important thing about this recognition was that it was awarded to the project in operation and not simply to the innovative idea.
"The interesting thing is that it is a festival where the idea does not win but the product wins and has to be tested and tested for a few hours in front of a jury, which does is to test the operation and understand how the technology is composed, what is the usability of the device," he said.
He also said that for the company - a creative group made up of four companies - it is "important" to have won an award in which companies with billions of dollars of investment participated.
"In the history of Latin America there are probably no companies that have won that award and for sure in 2018 we were the only nominees and winners in all of Latin America in that category," Guarino said.
"Read to me" is just one of the many projects that Electric Factory has in hand, as the brand's goal is to make its way to the world through innovation, technology and creativity.
The company, which although based in Uruguay has offices in various parts of the world such as Argentina, Chile and the United States, has been looking for 15 years to solve the problems of companies in all areas, such as pharmacies, banks, among others.
That is why in this company there are video games, interactive machines with facial recognition system, interactive gondolas, applications to develop new marketing models, among many other projects.
