In a context where digital transformation requires innovative solutions and strategic alliances for its implementation, the report analyzes five Latin American companies.

Published on April 29, 2016, the Gartner report was prepared by analysts Luis Anavitarte, Federico De Silva, Fernando Elizalde and Monica Zlotogorski. It states that "Of an estimated $155.5 billion in total IT spending during 2016, Spanish-speaking Latin America accounts for approximately 68% of total spending in the region, while the remaining 32% is generated in Brazil. This is a big shift in the IT spending split between Spanish-speaking Latin America and Brazil given that, until a few years ago (2012), Brazil's regional share reached 42%. The serious economic difficulties faced by Brazil and the good performance of the IT sector in markets such as Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru explain this change in the market. In addition, the evolution in Spanish-speaking Latin America is also due to their adoption of IT innovation and digital transformation. This is not to say that similar developments are not occurring in Brazil, but rather that Spanish-speaking Latin America has seen a marked increase in terms of innovation, startup proliferation and adoption of next-generation technology in mid- to large-sized organizations.
