A new edition of Cyber Monday will take place between this Monday and next Wednesday. The event promoted by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI) and the Chamber of the Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU) seeks to boost e-commerce and has 31 participating brands offering significant discounts.

Companies as diverse as Mercadolibre, Arredo, Latam, Mosca, Geant and Motociclo are on the Cyber Monday website for three days where they offer their best deals for customers shopping through e-commerce.

On the Ciberlunes website, Mosca offers discounts of up to 50%, Arredo, Multiahorro Hogar, Geant and Motociclo offer discounts of up to 60% on their products, Woow up to 75% and Tienda Mía up to 80%. Other important promotions are offered by Antel, TocToc Viajes, TCC, Devoto and Samsung.

"It's the year with the most brands," CEDU president Marcelo Montado told El Observador, noting that between each edition of Cyber Monday, website traffic grew by 15-20% per year.

The sales percentages offered by Cyber Monday are an eye-catcher for brands. According to Montado, in the e-commerce world, one in 100 people buying through the e-commerce shop is already a very good figure, but in the case of Cyber Monday shoppers are often 4.5 out of 100 and have reached, for some brands, 9 out of 100.

In this sense, Montado explained that the majority of users who enter Cyber Monday do so to shop and not to explore. "This year is going to be a record year," he predicted.

How to buy on Cyber Monday?

On the portal www.ciberlunes.uy you can find the participating companies and from there it is possible to enter the e-shop of each company. Most of the brands present their Cyber Monday offers on their homepage, so it is possible to select the product to buy and follow the purchase procedure.
