Continuing with its cycle of webinars 2020, the Chamber of the Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU) presented a videoconference by the accountant Federico Hornes, Marketing Director and Commercial Manager of the administrative software company Memory, who gave a talk on keys for entrepreneurs to improve their management and get the best results.
"Without technology there is no future," Hornes began by saying. At the beginning of his presentation, he argued that the vast majority of companies have incorporated management software, although many times they do it in a partial and not unified way. "The use of technology must be adapted to the needs of companies in an integrated way. It can be from different suppliers, but the important thing is that it is seen on a single screen," he added.
He stressed that through electronic invoicing and financial inclusion, Uruguay has taken important steps to facilitate the management of companies, which have benefited from tools that allow them to sell and invoice through electronic devices and by simply clicking on a screen.
However, he said that most entrepreneurs begin to perceive difficulties once the client portfolio and marketing channels increase, since the forms of collection and deadlines are diversified. As a solution, Hornes mentioned the need to incorporate digital tools that allow to have visible the money to be collected and the forms of execution of that collection.
"This helps us to organize our business because that money is what we need to manage," he said. He added: "Selling is part of the process, but the sale is closed when we get paid.
The expert mentioned that digital tools are also a solution to meet suppliers. "We must organize our money and do the accounts well. It is necessary to have visible collection and payment dates in order not to become unfinanced," he said, adding that the closure of many companies is due to lack of organization.
In the second webinar of this cycle of CEDU, Hornes deepened on the incorporation of e-Commerce to the organization of the companies in their digital tools, since it will allow to have a control of the stock, to show the products that are available, to speed up the times of the sales and to have an automation between all the channels of sale.
"These tools allow us to access digital platforms on the spot, in addition to optimizing processes," he said.
Hornes said that the use of management software is essential for those who are starting a business, refuting the idea that they are only used by large and consolidated companies. "All companies have the same cycles," he said.
"You don't have to be the best manager in the world, but you have to have the tools to help me manage," he concluded.
CEDU's webinar series will continue until the end of the year, with the next delivery on Thursday, November 5th. It will be given by professionals from Datasec, a Uruguayan company that has excelled in risk management, quality and security in information systems.
