Social scholarships. Your education is your future.

The program seeks to motivate young people by showing them a credible and possible path, which allows them to develop as individuals and enter an area of high employment potential in the labor market, such as information and communications technologies (ICTs).

In addition, full scholarships are offered for technical careers in the area of ICTs. These scholarships allow young people who have dropped out of the formal education system to continue their studies and achieve personal and professional development.

Objectives of the program

• To ensure that young people incorporate the knowledge and skills required for their social inclusion in the ICT sector; that they master new technologies as a differential to obtain quality employment with incomes above the national average.
• To make the young people see themselves reflected in the role model of the sponsors, generating work habits and values.
• To get companies in the ICT sector to evaluate the training received by young people as positive and to incorporate them into jobs.  
• Consolidate the support network as a methodology of social inclusion to obtain the support of donations from the private sector to continue providing services to society.

Support network

To achieve the projected objectives, Camino TICs has formed a support network composed of:

• ORT Uruguay University
• Rotary Club
• Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti)

These institutions collaborate to provide young people with opportunities for professional and human training, as well as quality employment alternatives.

ORT Uruguay University provides high quality professional training and contributes to the social scholarship fund.

Rotary Club provides the program with sponsors who guide the young people in the reintegration process and in the formation of values, committing themselves to them and becoming their role models.

Cuti, as an organization that brings together companies in the ICT sector in Uruguay, acts as a source of employment opportunities.

This network creates the necessary synergy to achieve the social inclusion of young people through an educational model that motivates them and provides them with real income-generating tools, thus helping to strengthen their self-esteem through achievement and to reduce poverty in Uruguayan society.
