Ideas can be submitted online to compete for a trip to Mobile World Congress 2018.
AppCircus is a global platform to support app development and is based on the organisation of events that drive the growth and maturation of app creators. It takes place in more than 50 cities around the world, and has been held twice in Montevideo, where the winning apps were PAGANZA in 2013 and GPSGAY in 2014, both of which continue to be successful in the market.
The first stage of participation will be through the nomination of apps on the event's website from 3 November to 23 November, where ten finalists will be chosen. These platforms must be online or in the process of being approved by a store and must not have been on the market for more than five years. The evaluation will be made by an online jury composed of Sebastián Aguiar (Marketing Manager Claro Uruguay), Magdalena Rodríguez (Co-Founder and CEO GPSGay) and Victoria Suárez (Co-Founder Sparkids, CMO Bixlabs, Girls in Tech Uruguay Board Member).
The final stage will take place at the Alliance Française on 5 December. There, the finalists will have to participate in a pitch competition to defend their venture in front of the offline jury. They will evaluate both the competitor and the application, based on criteria such as innovation, design, business model, scalability and problem-solving potential, among others. Each participant will have five minutes to present their proposal and then the jury will have five minutes to ask questions about it.
Finally, a winner will be defined among all the exponents, who will win a pass to the Mobile World Congress 2018 with ticket and stay included. The event is one of the most relevant for the world of digital developers, being a unique experience for any professional in the technology sector.
