UTEC officially opens its building in December and launches 2018 registration campaign

The approximate surface area of the building is 3,500 square metres and has a total capacity for 2,000 students.

It has been almost five years since the Technological University was launched and now announces the inauguration of its second Regional Technological Institute, the ITR Centro-Sur, on Friday 1 December, at 11 a.m., in the premises located on Maciel and Morquio streets, where the Doctor Emilio Penza Hospital was previously located.

The event will be attended by the members of UTEC's provisional Central Board of Directors, Lic. Graciela Do Mato, PhD. Pablo Chilibroste and Dr. Rodolfo Silveira, national and departmental authorities, including the mayor Carmelo Vidalín, legislators, heads of institutions of the National System of Public Education (SNEP) and representatives of the productive sector, which is also the target of the educational project.

CEREMONY

From 2 p.m. on that day, a ceremony will take place in which 16 students will receive the title of Higher University Technician in Information Technology. 

They are students of the first generation of this career, which began in 2015 in the department of Durazno and since 2017 is also taught in Río Negro. This Technicatura is characterised by its blended learning modality.

At the same time, the pre-registration campaign will be launched with a theme and a clip generated for UTEC under the name #TodoParaEncarar.
