The international TOTVS, one of the world's largest providers of business solutions for companies, with more than 12,000 employees in more than 41 countries, has decided to join as a partner of the Ceibal Plan, which is promoted by the Government of Uruguay on a national basis.
The Ceibal Plan, created in 2007 as a promoter of inclusion and equal opportunities through technology applied to education, has the programme JÓVENES A PROGRAMAR, which with the support of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (CUTI) organises free programming courses for young people between 17 and 26 years of age who have no previous experience.
In line with the fundamental bases of the Ceibal Plan, TOTVS develops different educational training plans in different regions and countries of Latin America; joining governmental initiatives or organisations that aim to integrate young professionals into the IT market.
Thus, in search of talent and integration with society, this participation arose with the first objective of two free activities, focused on training in technologies that TOTVS masters and generate job opportunities for those who know them. "We are very proud to be part of this educational-social movement, which commits companies, the state and organizations such as CUTI, to give young people in our country the opportunity to train and obtain employment in an industry such as IT, which is constantly growing. With this we turn possible frustrations into stories of opportunities and improvement", commented Javier Cabrera, from TOTVS Uruguay.
The young participants will receive a certificate from TOTVS; this will enable them to apply as a Basic Programmer or Software Tester and will open up their job opportunities in the IT employment market.
