The Universidad Tecnológica and Smart Talent, from Uruguay XXI, invite you to U-Tech, the first Information Technology Job Fair, to be held on Thursday, June 15 at the UTEC's ITR Centro-Sur in Durazno, with the support of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti), the National Youth Institute (INJU) and the Municipality of Durazno.
Since 2015, UTEC' s Information Technology Degree has contributed to the development of skills in the ICT sector, where there is an active demand for qualified personnel. The objective is to promote the exchange between the students of the region and the companies of the information technology sector in order to promote the linkage and to make known existing job proposals.
In this meeting, aimed at UTEC students, high school students from the central zone of the country and the general public, the companies will inform about the different projects and initiatives, in which it is required to integrate new talents. The participation of 16 companies is confirmed: Abstracta, Arkano Software, Bantotal, capicua, CodigoDelSur, Fx2, GeneXus, Ingenious Softworks, ITSystems, Kaizen Softworks, Onetree, Overactive, Pyxis, UruIT, woOw and IBM.
UTEC, on the other hand, will present the characteristics of the Information Technologies Technicature, especially about the "blended learning" modality (70% virtual, 30% on-site) and the graduate profile of this career that has an intermediate degree in Application Development and Testing.
Within the framework of the activity, a specific exchange instance will be developed between departmental authorities, CUTI, Uruguay XXI, the Departmental Economic Development Space (which also integrates UTEC) and IT sector entrepreneurs located mainly in Montevideo with the aim of knowing the needs and potential of each one and identify possible synergies towards a greater decentralization of employment related to ICT.
