In everyday life everything is changing, including people's digital identity. Nowadays, this is as important to validate and protect as the physical identity, since it is used to perform banking transactions, procedures or even interact through social networks.
The National Registry of Persons (RENAPER) is the Argentine national agency responsible for the registration and identification of all individuals within the Argentine territory or in Argentine jurisdiction throughout their life cycle. In order to adapt to the new paradigms of society, in conjunction with the Ministry of Modernization of the Nation, in 2017 they began to seek solutions to position the National Government as the digital identity validator of people through their facial biometric features, and thus facilitate the simplification of transactions that citizens perform in public and private organizations.
The Ministry of Modernization of the Nation and RENAPER opted for Secure Onboarding Process®, a technological platform developed by VU that allows to validate the digital identity of the citizen in a remote and centralized way. It integrates with the client's existing biometrics solution to offer proof of life through a mobile application. It also includes the implementation of an API Gateway through which banks, organizations and government entities can connect to use the service that will bring great benefits to citizens.
