Programme for investment by foreign companies in R&D activities

The call aims to promote the development of new R&D activities by foreign capital companies that are already established or are planning to set up in Spain.

Last Friday, February 12 was published the 2016 Call for the "Investment Program of foreign companies in R&D activities" of ICEX-Invest in Spain with a budget of € 2 million and whose application deadline is April 12. This line of aid will be co-financed under the European Operational Programme for Intelligent Growth until 2020.  

 

The objective of this aid is to promote the development of new R&D activities by foreign capital companies that are already established or are planning to set up in Spain.   

 

The main features of the program are: 

  • What does it offer? Non-repayable grants.
  • New R&D projects.
  • How much? Aid up to a maximum of 200,000 euros per company (Minimis regulations) in which the amount of aid represents a certain percentage of the total investment.
  • For whom? Foreign capital companies, both those already established and those greenfiled companies that are going to establish themselves in our country.
  • How? Under a competitive concurrence procedure in which applications are evaluated according to the assessment criteria set out in the call for applications.
  • Where? As the projects are co-financed with European Union ERDF funds, they must be carried out in Extremadura, Andalusia, Castilla la Mancha, Canary Islands, Murcia, Galicia or the Valencian Community.
  • When is the deadline? The application period will be open until 12 April and investments can be made until 31 December 2016.
