Montevideo participated with a stand at the Smart City Congress and Expo. This is an activity that every year attracts leading national and international representatives, researchers, academics, investors and companies.
According to the Spanish press, the meeting will bring together some 680 exhibitors (20% more than last year), 700 cities will be represented and 420 speakers will exchange experiences on how to achieve more efficient city management.
Montevideo: the only Latin American stand
The director of the Department of Sustainable and Intelligent Development of the Municipality of Montevideo, Cristina Zubillaga, explained that this is the third time that our capital is present at the event.
"We were there the previous two years but this year we decided to set up a stand from Montevideo. We will be the only Latin American stand at the expo. In addition, the mayor Daniel Martínez will participate, who will talk about what we are doing in Montevideo," he explained.
Zubillaga said that the delegation is composed of nine companies, 27 people, the companies are going with their stand to offer and show the developments in Montevideo.
"For our part, we will present the digital proximity, everything we are doing with Smart Cities, the online procedures, the smart cameras, the facial recognition project and service projects such as the electronic file," said the mayor.
