On Tuesday, October 30, Jóvenes a Programar "Álvaro Lamé" held a working breakfast where the results of the Labor Intermediation Service to companies in the IT sector and the new features that the program will implement in 2019 were presented.
The experiences of companies that have already hired more than 600 of the first 600 graduates of Jóvenes a Programar were also shared.
Mariano de Larrobla, director of Bantotal, told about his company's experience with the first graduates of Jóvenes a Programar and assured that "work-based training works; we believe that people learn by working and that they differentiate themselves by their attitude".
He also explained why we are doing this and said that "we need more people to take advantage of the opportunities we see and there are many opportunities outside Uruguay as well".
For Anibal Gonda, Vice President of People Talent at Cuti, "young people are interested in the IT sector, have a totally positive attitude and are eager to work".
The event was attended by the president of Plan Ceibal, Miguel Brechner, representatives of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) and other companies in the sector.
Finally, the event was closed by Carinna Balsamo, director of the project, who said that these young people only need "an opportunity and a reference" to have as a guide within the companies, since most of the time it is their first work experience.
