More than 50 students to graduate from the Testing programme

On Thursday 14 December, 52 students will graduate from the three levels of the Testing course offered by the Software Testing Centre.

Among them are 18 young people who will obtain their diploma thanks to a scholarship programme of the ESC and the National Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP). 

 

The Software Tester is the professional responsible for designing and executing software tests with the aim of evaluating its quality. The Software Testing Centre -a joint venture between the Faculty of Engineering of the Udelar, through its Julio Ricaldoni Foundation, and the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI)- provides training in the area since 2005, being a pioneer in Uruguay.

 

Diploma Award Ceremony Testing Career

 

During the seventh edition of the award ceremony, 41 students will receive their Software Tester diploma, 9 Professional Tester diplomas and 2 Leader diplomas. At the ceremony, the following will speak: María Simon (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, President of the FJR and member of the CES Board of Directors), Gustavo Guimerans and Mónica Wodzislawski (CES General Manager and Training Manager, respectively) and Eduardo Pereyra (INEFOP General Director).

 

When: Thursday 14 December at 6.30 p.m.

Where: Amphitheatre of the José Luis Massera Multipurpose Building. Senda Ing. Nelson Landoni on the corner of Julio Herrera y Reissig next to the Faculty of Engineering.

On the way

 

There are currently 50 students studying for the Software Tester diploma, 37 of whom are studying under the scholarship programme, and who will graduate in 2018. All of these students have followed their studies online from 12 departments, and among them there is one person on unemployment insurance, four people with disabilities and eight students who are in their final year of high school.

 

The next Software Tester course starts on 12 March 2018 and scholarships are available for those interested. The only requirement to apply is to have basic computer skills and to be in or have passed the last year of high school or equivalent institutions.
