Yesterday, Wednesday, June 27th, the Election of Authorities of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) for the period 2018-2020 took place and Eng. Leonardo Loureiro was elected president. Although he had already assumed this position after the death of Álvaro Lamé, this time he was elected in formal acts along with a new management team.
He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Universidad de la República and an MBA from the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. He is the International Business Development Manager at Quanam and teaches at the MBA program at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
With a strong focus on Innovation and Technology and more than 25 years of experience in the IT Industry working with large local and international organizations, Leonardo Loureiro has been a member of Cuti's board for 12 years, serving as treasurer for 4 years and as president for the last year and a half.
His proposal for the period 2018-2020 is to empower the technology ecosystem to go to a new stage of development, thus providing growth opportunities for all industry players.
"Teamwork is fundamental, the integration of the new board has exceptional professionals, which will allow us to take on the challenges ahead," said Loureiro.
The president has set challenging goals in several areas such as Business Development, Internationalization, Financing, Talent and Innovation: "I want to work on high-impact issues, which really move the needle of our exports, to have a solid Industry that provides jobs to many Uruguayans", he said.
