Here in Uruguay we already have several examples: there are supermarket chains that replace cashiers with self-service terminals ... or banks that automate hundreds of procedures that previously required officials to perform.
How do we Uruguayans perceive this technical progress, do we see it as a threat or as an opportunity for new jobs to emerge?
How are companies preparing for these changes?
Today we return to this topic, which we have already discussed on other occasions, but opening the field, and going in search of other perspectives: Diego Sastre, computer engineer and CEO of Pyxis, a conglomerate of companies that offer digital solutions for complex organizations, such as e-commerce platforms, infrastructure and Big-Data tools; Ana Peluffo, psychologist, Human Resources manager at BASF, a German chemical company; Fernando Isabella, economist and director of Planning at the Office of Planning and Budget; Lucía Pittaluga, economist and professor at the Faculty of Economics and Administration at Udelar.
