On Wednesday, December 21 opened the registration period for those interested in participating in Jóvenes a Programar, Plan Ceibal's project to train 1,000 young people between 17 and 26 years old with no previous experience in programming throughout the country.

They will be trained in three of the most demanded programming languages in the industry (.Net, Genexus or WebUI) and testing. The courses will last nine months; they will be free of charge and study materials will be provided, including a computer that will be lent to the student during the classes.

These will be directed by specialized personnel of Plan Ceibal and the technical aspects will be dictated by referents of the most important technological companies of the country in person or by videoconference.

The project "Jóvenes a Programar" aims to expand the possibilities of job placement in an area with a high demand for skilled human resources. The young people who pass the courses will be part of a job bank that will be accessed by related companies in the sector.

Young people from all over the country, between 17 and 26 years old, who have passed the 3rd year of Secondary Education or UTU, can register. All those interested in registering will participate in a selection process that will culminate with the allocation of the 1,000 places available.
