The government and the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) are preparing a business mission to China that will take place between January 31 and February 6.
The mission will be led by the Minister of Industry, Carolina Cosse, and will be preceded by the visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister to Uruguay on January 23.
The executive director of the Uruguay XXI institute, Antonio Carámbula, told Informe nacional that the relationship between the two countries "is at its best" and that the Asian nation is Uruguay's main trading partner.
The government's goal is to advance trade ties with China despite Mercosur's failure to make progress on a Free Trade Agreement, Carámbula said.
