Rivera's exhibition in an activity organized by the Jacaranda Program

In the morning hours of last Tuesday, in the "Idea Vilariño" Room of the Telecommunications Tower, representatives of the Departmental Government of Rivera and the Technological University gave a presentation to businessmen from the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector on the strengths of the region for the installation of companies in this field.

 

The activity took place within the framework of the Jacarandá programme, promoted by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (CUTI), ANTEL and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM).

 

The dissertation on productive development and connectivity in the region was given by Dr. Rodrigo Vargas, from the Municipality of Rivera, and by Mr. Felipe Fajardo, Director of the Northern Regional Technological Institute of UTEC, on the growth of the educational offer linked to information technologies in the area.

 

Present were the president of the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies, Leonardo Loureiro, the president of ANTEL, Andrés Tolosa, the National Director of Telecommunications and Audiovisual Communication Services of the MIEM, Rodrigo Díaz, the General Director of Development and Environment of the Municipality of Rivera, Quim. Alejandro Bertón, among other authorities.
