Bringing together NGOs, academic institutions, companies and startup developers to compete in building effective solutions to mitigate natural disasters, with a focus on health and wellness.
The American Red Cross and the United Nations Human Rights Office join the global Call for Code initiative to raise the profile of developers.
Winners will receive long-term support through open source foundations, financial awards, the opportunity to present their solution to leading VCs, and will deploy their solution through IBM's Corporate Service Corps program.
Developers will start their project with IBM Code Patterns, combined with optional enterprise technology, to create projects over three months.
The champion team will be chosen by a jury of renowned technologists and will be presented in October at an awards event.
