Within the framework of the Talent Attraction Plan, promoted by the Global Services Programme of Uruguay XXI, a procedure is available to facilitate access to temporary residences developed jointly with the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs.
Temporary residency will be extended to people who have already entered the national territory as tourists, given that until now it only applied to procedures at consulates.
As of the same date, temporary residences (period in Uruguay of more than 6 months and less than 2 years) for investors, workers, technicians, managers and middle management linked to companies, will be informed by the National Directorate of Migration (DNM) within 5 working days, from the presentation of the requirements in order.
This facility can be used by people who are already in the country or who are abroad.

Any foreigner may initiate a residence procedure, which may be permanent or temporary (up to 2 years) and it depends on the country of origin what requirements are requested for each case.
