To further support and accelerate its customers' migration process to the cloud, Logicalis, a global information and communication technology solutions and services company, increased its stake in Kumulus, a company specialising in cloud services and data management. In August 2020, the company had already acquired 30% of the startup and now becomes the majority shareholder.

This move is fully aligned with the company's strategy to strengthen its position in the cloud world. With the acquisition, Kumulus becomes an important arm of Logicalis for application modernisation and the intelligent use of analytics and management tools for hybrid environments.

"Cloud migration has gained momentum in the last year and is set to gain even more traction in the future. In the period in which we worked together, Kumulus demonstrated that it is a solid company, with a high level of expertise and that it can contribute to the acceleration of digital transformation agendas in Logicalis' customer base, not only in Brazil, but also in Latin America," says Rodrigo Parreira, CEO of Logicalis Latin America.

To achieve this goal, Kumulus' solutions will be integrated into the Logicalis portfolio, enabling it to reach an even larger volume of customers. On the other hand, the startup's operation will remain autonomous, with its own governance policies and decision-making processes.

"When we first negotiated with Logicalis, we saw a lot of synergy between the company and Kumulus. In just a few months, we have witnessed an increase in our participation in Brazil and the emergence of new opportunities in Latin America. As a result, we are now proposing to expand the Kumulus experience to Chile, Peru, Argentina and Mexico. I hope that in the coming months we can go even further", says Thiago Caserta, Founder & Chief Business Development at Kumulus.

With the acquisition, Logicalis enriches its Cloud and Data skills (PaaS, DevOps, Big Data, API management, among others) adding more value to its customer portfolio, while Kumulus gains access to Logicalis' customers to prospect new large-scale projects.
