Continuing with its cycle of webinars 2020, the Chamber of the Digital Economy of Uruguay (CEDU) presented a videoconference by the accountant Federico Hornes, Marketing Director and Commercial Manager of the administrative software company Memory, who gave a talk on the keys for entrepreneurs to improve their administration and obtain the best results. "Without technology there is no future", began Hornes. At the beginning of his presentation, he argued that the vast majority of companies have incorporated management software, although they often do so in a partial and unified way. "The use of technology must be adapted to the needs of companies in an integrated way. It can be from different suppliers, but the important thing is that it is seen on a single screen," he added. He stressed that through e-invoicing and financial inclusion, Uruguay has taken important steps to facilitate the management of companies, which have benefited from tools that allow them to sell and invoice through electronic devices and by simply clicking on a screen. However, he argued that most entrepreneurs begin to perceive difficulties once the client portfolio and marketing channels increase, as payment methods and deadlines become more diversified. As a solution, Hornes mentioned the need to incorporate digital tools that make it possible to have visible the money to be collected and the ways of executing that collection. "This helps us to organise our business because that money is what we need to manage," he said. He added: "Selling is part of the process, but the sale is closed when the money is collected. The expert mentioned that digital tools are also a solution to meet suppliers. "We have to organise our money and do the accounts properly. It is necessary to have visible collection and payment dates in order not to become unfinanced," he said, adding that the closure of many companies is due to lack of organisation. In the second webinar of this cycle of CEDU, Hornes delved into the incorporation of e-Commerce into the organisation of companies in their digital tools, as it will allow them to have control of stock, show the products that are available, speed up sales times and have automation between all sales channels. "These tools allow us to access digital platforms at the moment, in addition to optimising processes," he said. Hornes argued that the use of management software is essential for start-ups, refuting the idea that it is only used by large, established companies. "All companies have the same cycles," he said. "You don't have to be the best administrator in the world, but you have to have the necessary tools to help me in administration," he concluded. CEDU's series of webinars will continue until the end of the year, with the next one taking place on Thursday 5 November. It will be given by professionals from Datasec, a Uruguayan company that has excelled in risk management, quality and security in information systems.
