The executive director of Uruguay XXI, Antonio Carámbula, opened the speech highlighting the importance of having a program of these characteristics "for the improvement of the business environment and the export of this type of services in strategic sectors such as accounting and management services, software development, the pharmaceutical industry, and professional services".

He also stated that "Uruguay is no stranger to global trade trends, which indicate that a very significant part of world trade is concentrated in services". He added that "training contributes to attracting investment in global services, and thus to the generation of new jobs, and ultimately, to improving the quality of life of Uruguayans".

Eduardo Pereyra, general director of INEFOP, explained that "this alliance with Uruguay XXI reflects the recognition of the new training needs of Uruguay and contributes to respond in a more comprehensive way to the installation of investment projects". He insisted that this agreement is "part of a more ambitious project that will allow the Uruguayan workforce to also be a workforce for the region".

With this agreement INEFOP will contribute USD700 thousand for the approval and co-financing of at least 70 training proposals in a period of 2 years, which will mean the participation of more than 1500 workers of the global service sector.

Finishing Schools is a tool framed within the Global Services Program of Uruguay XXI, developed with the support of the IDB. It co-finances up to 70% for training plans led by companies in Corporate Services, Information Technology, Pharmaceuticals and Health, and Architecture and Engineering.
