Why testing is crucial when exporting software?

Our CEO Guillermo Talento has experience in several countries in the region and has even participated in visits beyond Latin America including the recent CUTI trade mission to the UK.

"The foreign market always demands quality since Uruguayan software is generally part of a larger solution. So what happens if there are bugs in this software? Failures in a component can result in significant costs to the contractor and can result in fines and loss of clients for us".

"In addition," adds Guillermo, "if you are hired through a platform that enables the rating of your work, the cost of a bad rating far exceeds that of several good ratings. In this case, exactly the same thing happens as when bad news goes viral on a social network, it weighs a lot, even much more than the achievements and good results".

But the issue does not end there: "the cost of international claims are enormous on a Uruguayan scale. Any failure that forces the execution of an insurance, will produce the bankruptcy of that company in Uruguay because it will have no one to insure it for another contract".

"We have to look at the positive", concludes Guillermo, "we have excellent testers, tools to automate testing and people who know how to use them right here in Uruguay. We offer the software exporter the peace of mind of being in charge of testing and at the same time the exporter looks good in front of his client, demonstrating a commitment with the quality of his work, because he can also show a Software Testing Bureau certificate to his client, validating the quality of the delivered product, which in our experience is highly valued".
