This January 31st we started six days of work in China, visiting companies and government organizations in two very relevant cities of that country, such as Shenzhen and Beijing.
Shenzhen is the city that concentrates the largest number of technology companies in the Asian country, it is the Silicon Valley of the region. Giants such as Huawei, ZTE and DJI, have their headquarters in that city. Companies of robots, artificial intelligence, drones, internet of things, sensors, added to very prestigious universities, are making this city one of the most important in the technological world.
For us, as members of the ICT industry in Uruguay, it is transcendental to do business with China as with any country with which we do business. It is relevant to understand their culture, their way of doing business and their interests. We have analyzed in detail how to do business with the Asian giant, but living the experience, having the possibility of making concrete proposals, makes a mission like the one we have started very relevant.
Uruguay's ICT industry has a lot to offer: a very large network throughout the western market, international recognition for the quality of its services and a strong presence in Latin America, attributes that are sure to be very interesting for Chinese companies.
In addition, if we want to do business in China, it is important to understand what is the best way, the best place to settle depending on our business, which partners are the most suitable and a host of issues, which are often discovered in one-on-one meetings with businessmen of the country that receives us. For example, one of the largest companies in our sector, GeneXus, already has great advances such as the integration of its systems to payment methods, Internet services and technical support in Chinese, which enables all the companies in its ecosystem that develop in GeneXus to have part of the road solved.
This February 3rd is the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, event that we will be remembering in this visit and first relevant milestone that we will be addressing in Beijing, to then visit companies such as Baidu, a reference in artificial intelligence in the world, as well as Jumore, an e-commerce giant.
The fact that the mission is led by Minister Carolina Cosse is very important, as it shows that the government, state, educational and business organizations are working together, which is very important for countries like China.
We go with great expectation and sure that there will be a before and after this trip. In a few days I will tell you about the first visits.
